Video: This Is Your Skin on Sunscreen

With summer winding down, we don’t blame you for wanting to bask in the sun a few more times before sweater weather rolls in. That said, here’s your friendly reminder that soaking up some rays should always be accompanied by three little letters: SPF.

Take it from the video below, which shows people “How the sun sees you,” or the damaging effects the sun can really have on your skin. Freckles, blotches and age spots galore, passersby get a quick lesson in how UV rays can damage and age skin in ways not visible to the naked eye. A quick lather of sunscreen shows total protection against the harsh UV rays.

So the next time you grab your swimsuit and a towel, slap on a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect against UVA and UVB rays with an SPF value of 15 or higher (or go a step further and find a moisturizer to protect your skin during everyday wear). Don’t forget to reapply at least every two hours!
